2687004 - How to add User Info element in Manage Business Configuration

Symptom

How to add an "User Info" element in "Manage Business Configuration" (BCUI).

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Resolution

  1. Go to "Admin Center";
  2. Search for "Manage Business Configuration";
  3. Scroll down to "Employee Profile" section and click on it;
  4. Expand "User Info" option;
  5. Go to "Create New";

  6. Fill all necessary fields;

  7. Hit "Save";
  8. Then, go to "View Templates" section and click on it;
  9. Expand "employeeProfile" option;
  10. Scroll down to "Edit Elements";
  11. Click on "personalInformation" "Details" button;

  12. Scroll down to "User Info" Elements;
  13. On the drop down list, select the "User Info" field you have just created;

  14. Hit "Done";
  15. Click on "Save" button;
  16. Finally, go to "Manage Permission Roles";
  17. Select the target Role;
  18. Click on the "Permission..." button;

  19. Then, go to "Employee Data" permission;
  20. And search for the name of the field you have created in BCUI (it will be under "User Information" section);
  21. Flag the corresponding checkbox(es);

  22. Hit "Done" and "Save Changes";
  23. Then, navigate to "Configure People Profile";
  24. Add the recently created and permissioned field to the block you want it to be displayed;
  25. Go to "People Profile" and see if the changes made, reflected properly.

Note:

In userinfo-element Definition for the field type of the userinfo element: Boolean can be configured but not work.

  • Types support including: varchar | float | integer | boolean | date | blob 
    • Blob type is not used in current system 
    • Boolean can be configured but not work
