sp_helpdb shows model and master with creation dates of Jan 1, 1900

 master               15.0 MB sa        1 Jan 01, 1900 mixed log and data 
 model                 4.0 MB sa        3 Jan 01, 1900 mixed log and data 
 tempdb             3363.0 MB sa        2 Aug 25, 201XX select into/bulkcopy/pllsort, trunc log on chkpt, abort tran on log full, mixed log and data
Why are these dates not an actual creation date?
