Symptom

  • The message, "A fatal error has been detected by the SAP Java Virtual Machine: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005)"
  • Together with the error message, "NTPCI__exit(1); Native Thread failed to unwind while attempting to shutdown the PCI" in the SAP ASE error log
  • May be reported when loading sunec.dll on Windows platforms.
