2688801 - Application Error when trying to hire a draft from Manage Pending Hires - Employee Central

When trying to hire a draft user from Manage Pending Hires, an application error occurs with fingerprint=568c8dcc407e6eec1929c96f0ac1f4ecde567c58 before the system can load the New Hire Wizard page correctly.

1. Navigate to Admin Center> Manage Pending Hires > Select 'Drafts' from the Dropdown
2. Select a user > Click 'Hire'
3. Application Error occurs with fingerprint=568c8dcc407e6eec1929c96f0ac1f4ecde567c58

Possible Cause 1:

When the user was originally created and saved as a draft in the system, there was a Job Relationship value maintained. This value has since been deleted from the system, and now when trying to hire this user again, the system tries to load the old data for the Job Relationship and the system crashes as the value no longer exists.

This is often caused by a Manager in Job Relationship being Purged from the system since the draft user was first created.

Possible Cause 2:

The issue is caused by the "OnInit" rule set on Job Rel Info.

Triggering a rule on Job Rel (OnInit Rule) will create an empty row on initiation.

If value is not entered in this row before saving as draft

This system will throw an error when resuming draft because of the empty row.

Cause 1 Solution

As the user's data cannot be edited because the system cannot load the data, this draft user needs to be deleted and recreated. As the deleted value in Job Relationship will no longer be available to select, you will not receive the error again.

Cause 2 Solution:

Remove the rule.
If want to enforce user to enter Job Relatiionship value
you can create an OnSave rule to remind the user to enter data either as warning or error.

If you do not want to remove the rule,
Ensure that value is always entered in the job relationship, before saving as draft
