Symptom

A secondary server in an SAP IQ multiplex shuts down unexpectedly with the following message in the iqmsg log:

TE:42W18 -- dropped 0 of 0 connection(s) for table: ****Retry limit exceeded
.....

***Emergency Shutdown***
Exception Thrown from dblib/db_iqutility.cxx:4513, Err# 46, tid 72 origtid 72
O/S Err#: 0, ErrID: 1025 (db_catalogException); SQLCode: -1009413, SQLState: 'QCB11', Severity: 23
[21051]: Secondary server cannot maintain catalog sync.
sp_mpxprocesstlvlog exception, SQLSTATE=QCB11 [Secondary server cannot maintain catalog sync.

The srvlog will show:

Database server shutdown due to HUP signal
