2689390 - Restrictions on Time Sheet Validation Rule and Business Rules on time sheet relevant objects

This KBA lists the restrictions on time sheet validation rule and business rules on time sheet relevant objects, like Employee Time Sheet Entry, Time Recording etc., for validation purpose.

1. Is it possible to assign multiple time sheet validation rules in one time recording profile ?
2. Is it possible to consider custom fields of Employee Time Sheet Entry, Time Recording, etc in time sheet validation rules ?
3. Is it possible to raise Warning, Alert, or Informative messages by time sheet validation rule, or business rules on time sheet objects like Employee Time Sheet Entry, Time Recording etc ?

Current system design.

1. Is it possible to assign multiple time sheet validation rules in one time recording profile? 
   No.
   Currently only one time sheet validation rule is allowed in one time recording profile due to performance considerations.
   As a workaround, it is possible to assign multiple validation business rules on Employee Time Sheet Entry, Allowance, Time Recording, Allowance Recording objects, if the business requirements can also be achieved by validation business rules on these objects.
   
   Please note that the more business rules assigned and the more complex the rules are, the longer it takes to run the business rules, which may lead to longer loading times in the time sheet UI.
   
   
2. Is it possible to consider custom fields of Employee Time Sheet Entry, Time Recording, etc., in time sheet validation rules? 
   No.
   Currently, custom fields are not available when setting up time sheet validation rules.
   The related Influence Request (https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/353201) has been acknowledged by Product Management and is planned for consideration in a future release.
   
   Workaround:
   Custom fields are available in the business rules based on the belonging objects.
   For example, if you want to raise an error based on values from a custom field in the Employee Time Sheet Entry object, you can create a validation purpose business rule based on the Employee Time Sheet Entry object. Within this business rule, the custom field is visible. This also applies to other objects like Allowance, Time Recording, Allowance Recording, etc.
   
   
3. Is it possible to raise Warning, Alert, or Informative messages by time sheet validation rule, or business rules on time sheet objects like Employee Time Sheet Entry, Time Recording, etc.? 
   No.
   Currently, Error is the only supported message type by time sheet validation rules or any other validation purpose business rules set to time sheet related objects, including but not limited to Employee Time Sheet, Employee Time Sheet Entry, Time Recording, Allowance, Allowance Recording, etc.
   The related Influence Request (https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/313739) has been accepted by Product Management and is planned for consideration in a future release.
