2690038 - Overlapping Benefit Enrollment Periods

Symptom

Is it possible for users to enroll for current year benefit as well as same benefit for next year? Currently the system does not allow to add benefit schedule periods that have overlapping dates.

Environment

SucessFactors Employee Central: Global Benefits

Resolution

  1. Configure a benefit with a Benefit Schedule that has two Schedule Periods.
  2. First Schedule period is for example, with the following configurations:
    Enrollment Opens: 01/01/2018
    Enrollment Closes: 12/31/2018
    Enrollment Valid Until: 12/31/2019
  3. Second Schedule period is:
    Enrollment Opens: 01/01/2019
    Enrollment Closes: 12/31/2019
    Enrollment Valid Until: 12/31/2019
  4. Make sure that Carry Forward Enrollment is Yes. Please refer to the Benefits implementation handbook (https://help.sap.com/doc/44d6be75bab34be1aa6c5a441aa07156/latest/en-US/SF_EC_Global_Benefits_User.pdf) to know more about this option.
  5. If an employee enrolls for the benefit in current year, the enrollment is valid for next year as well.
