Symptom
After you executed FIFO Cost Determination run, you get the error message: 'No valid cost accumulations exist for ABC (ABC represents the material ID) with stock quantity XYZ(XYZ represents the quantity) ea'.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign.
Reproducing the Issue

Go to the Inventory Valuation work center.
- Go to the Periodic Tasks -> FIFO Cost Determination view.
- Show all FIFO Cost Determination Runs and search for the erroneous Run ID.
In the Messages tab, you will see the error message: 'No valid cost accumulations exist for ABC with stock quantity XYZ ea'.
Cause
Error is due to two reasons:
- Either you have not posted the cost for the Material.
There are no postings for the Material ID: ABC for the period in which the respective FIFO Cost Determination run was executed.
You can check in:
- Go to Inventory Valuation work center.
- Go to Materials View.
- Search for the Material ID: ABC.
- Click View Cost History.
- Enter the Period/Year and you will see no records exist for that period.
(or)
- You have posted the cost for the Material for one Set of Books, whereas you have to execute the FIFO Cost Determination run for another Set of Books.
Resolution
You need to execute the FIFO Cost Determination run for the Correct Set of Books. (or)
You need to execute Material Cost Accumulation run at first and then re-execute FIFO Cost Determination run.

Go to Inventory Valuation work center.
- Go to Periodic Tasks -> Material Cost Accumulation view
- Create a New Material Cost Accumulation Run.
- Fill in all the necessary details and execute the run.
Check the Processed Successfully tab and you will see Material ID: ABC has been processed.
You now have to re-execute the FIFO Cost Determination run with the same selection parameters. You can see the run has been executed successfully without errors.
