  • Report connecting a to a Universe, does not return all the expected records in Crystal Reports.

  • SAP Crystal Reports 2013
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2016
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2020

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Crystal Reports, create a report based on a Universe that returns a large data set.
  2. Refresh the report.
  3. Notice it returns only 5,000 records, when the expected result is larger than that.

  • The Universe is configured to return 5,000 records only.
  • Note: There is no "Partial Results" warning in Crystal Reports, like it does in Web Intelligence report based on the same Universe.

    • In the Universe Design Tool, open the Universe (.UNV), and uncheck the Universe Parameter option: "Limit size of result to":
      1. Launch the Universe Design Tool.
      2. Under the menu "File", select "Import..."
      3. In the "Import Universe" window, select the Universe the report connects to, and click "OK"
      4. Under the menu "File", select "Parameters"
      5. In the "Universe Parameters" window, select the tab "Controls"
      6. Uncheck the "Query Limits" option: "Limit size of result to"

      7. Click "OK" to accept the change.
      8. Save and export the Universe back to the SAP BusinessObjects Repository.
Now, there will not be any limit to the number of records to return to the report.
