Symptom

  • During an upgrade to EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0 using Software Update Manager (SUM) tool, the following error message appears:
Severe error(s) occurred in phase PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION!
Last error code set: Stack file is invalid: component '<name>' (stack release < source release)
  • For example:
Severe error(s) occurred in phase PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION!
Last error code set: Stack file is invalid: component 'GRCPINW' (stack release V1000_731 < source release V1100_700)
