2692225 - Upload Of MIME Type Video/MP4 Not Permitted

• Incoming emails are not creating Tickets but failing with error message,"Upload Of MIME Type Video/MP4 Not Permitted"

1. Go to Administration Work Center
2. Then to General Settings and navigate to Web Service Message Monitoring link
3. Filter by Erroneous Query and for Service Interface "ServiceRequestingIn", the following error will be displayed "Upload Of MIME Type Video/MP4 Not Permitted"

The MIME Type video/mp4 would not be configured in the system but the incoming e-mail has a video attachment with .mp4 extension

• There are two options to handle the error:
1. Add the mp4 extenstion to the an existing video/mpeg MIME Type or
2. Add a new video/mp4 MIME Type
• Option A:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center
2. Go to Implementation Projects view
3. Click Open Activity List
4. Go to the Fine-Tune tab
5. Open Activity: Allowed MIME Types for Document Upload
6. Under "File Extension: video/mpeg", check if file extension mp4 exists, if not, then proceed to the next step
7. Scroll down until you find MIME Type Code 10096: MPEG Video Clip
8. Click Add Row and enter new Zcode, MIME Type Code which starts with Z and add the exension mp4.
9. Activate this MIME Type Code by allowing the checkboxes for Allowed, Compressed  columns (as seen in the below example).

• If the error persists, and it is exclusive to video/mp4, then you can create a new MIME Type Code by following the below steps to add the MIME type video/mp4
1. Navigate to Business Configuration
2. Go to Implementation Projects
3. Open Activity List and open the Allowed MIME Types for Document Upload fine-tuning activity
4. In the new screen, click Add Row
5. Enter something like Z2 and MIME Type video/mp4, compress [checked], and Allowed [checked]
6. Add the file extension mp4, Save and Close
   
• On restarting the error messages on Web Service Message Monitoring, the incoming emails would be processed as tickets
• If during the above steps the following message is observed "Activity is read only. To edit this activity, add it to your project...", then refer to "File and Attachment Processing" help document.
