2692713 - HANA upgrade fails with "cannot decode boolean value" error

Symptom

Updating the HANA revision fails with the following error:

INFO:     Output line 30: Upgrade failed
INFO:     Output line 31:   error upgrading
INFO:     Output line 32:
INFO:     Output line 33: Log file written to '/var/tmp/hdb_<SID>_hdblcm_update_2018-09-06_14.24.27/hdbupd.log' on host '<hostname>'.
INFO:     Program terminated with exit code 1
ERR :   Update of SAP HANA Database failed

hdbupd.log shows below messages:

INFO:   Reading global.ini
INFO:     Layer 'Default' found
INFO:     Layer 'System' found
INFO:     Layer 'Host' not found
INFO: Found value 'communication/ssl' = 'sapcrypto' in layer 'System'
ERR : Parameter 'global.ini/communication/ssl' cannot decode boolean value 'sapcrypto'
ERR : error upgrading
ERR : Upgrade failed
INFO: Wrote 921520 bytes

INFO: InstallRegistry closed
