2693244 - Diagnostic Agent registration fails due to a NullPointerException while trying to invoke the method getServerName()

Symptom

  • After restarting a Diagnostic Agent, it fails to connect to the Solution Manager
  • Log of the Diagnostic Agent shows the following exception:

[EXCEPTION]java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method com.sap.smd.server.manager.SMDRepository$AgentInformation.getServerName() of a null object loaded from field com.sap.smd.server.manager.SMDInternalNameResolver.m_ai of an object loaded from local variable 'this'at com.sap.smd.server.manager.SMDInternalNameResolver.getInternalKeyToConfiguration(SMDInternalNameResolver.java:32)at com.sap.smd.server.manager.SMDRepository.getCustomPluginProperties(SMDRepository.java:926)at com.sap.smd.server.util.SecurityUtil.getWhitelistFromNodesController(SecurityUtil.java:512)
