2693292 - Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126: The specified module could not be found.

Symptom

Please note the current SAP Content Server release is 7.53 and this version should be used for new installations and upgrades, more details in note 719971 - SAP Content Server release strategy and note 2786364 - SAP Content Server and Cache Server 7.5 (and higher) 

  • You are receiving the following error message when arrying out some actions related to SAP content server installed on Windows OS:

    X-ErrorDescription: "CreateTab ContentStorage, connect error SQLConnect failed, Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126: The specified module could not be found. (SAP MAXDB SDB (unicode), C:\sapdb\SDB\db\pgm\sdbodbcw.dll)., Error Code: 160"

  • From this error above the Driver name is SAP MAXDB SDB (unicode) and the full path is C:\sapdb\SDB\db\pgm\ and the program is sdbodbcw.dll.
  • The ODBC driver name can be found in transaction CSADMIN under the Settings tab or in the ContentServer.ini file.
  • Program sdbodbcw.dll is the unicode program while sdbodbc.dll is non-unicode. The file name of the ODBC driver changed between Version 7.6 and Version 7.7. It was sqlod32.dll for SAP MaxDB 7.3 - 7.6 and libsdbodbc.dll as of SAP MaxDB 7.7.
