2694706 - Unable to view Activities or Opportunities in the Side Pane of the Outlook Add-in

Symptom

Some users see "This view is empty" when trying to view the Activities, Opportunities etc. of a Contact in the side pane of the Outlook Add-in.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to the Outlook Add-in with a non admin user.
  2. Go to the Side Pane.
  3. Search for a Contact and click enter.

You can see the tile of "Opportunities" and "Activites" but the box is empty with the message "This view is empty".

The same issue might not be reproducible from admin credntials.

Cause

This is because the user is not assigned the relevant Workcenter Views under 'Work Center and View Assignments'.

Resolution

  1. Go to Edit Access Rights for the user and check the Work Center and View Assignments.
  2. Under COD_ACTIVITIES" enable anyone of the follwing:
  3. COD_TASK

    COD_APPOINTMENT

    COD_EMAIL

    COD_PHONECALL

  4. Logout from the outlook plugin and login again.
  5. Now Activities section will be enabled.

If any of the other Values(Opportunity/Lead/Activity/Sales-Quote/Campaign/Sales-Order) gets disabled in the side pane, you can enable the below mentioned values that have been added under WOC Views.


"COD_OPPORTUNITY_WCVIEW" - Opportunity
"COD_MKT_PROSPECTWC" (Both) - Leads
"COD_MARKETINGLEAD"
"COD_CAMPAIGN - Campaign
"COD_QUOTE_WCVIEW" - Sales Quote
"COD_SALESORDER_WCVIEW" - Sales Order
