2698853 - Msg 3606(Arithmetic overflow) occurred when performing a command 'online database' - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When trying to load a dump file which was generated in ASE 12.5.4, it failed.
  • When performing a command 'online database', Msg 3606(Arithmetic overflow) and Msg 3454 occurred.

    1> online database <dbname>
    2> go
    Database '<dbname>' appears to be at an older version '0' than the present installation at version '15700'; ASE will assess it, and upgrade it as required.
    Database '<dbname>': beginning upgrade step [ID  1564]: executing SQL statement ("declare @dbid int select @dbid = db...")

    Msg 3606, Level 16, State 0:
    Arithmetic overflow occurred.

    Msg 3454, Level 20, State 1:
    Database '<dbname>': ASE could not completely upgrade this database; upgrade item 1564 could not be installed.
    ASE could not bring database '<dbname>' online.
