What is the impact of having "Browser Photo Caching" enabled in my SuccessFactors instance?

"Browser Photo Caching" is a Provisioning setting that controls whether SuccessFactors tells web browsers to cache employee profile photos or to always fetch them from the server.

• When it is enabled: it allows the user browser to store profile photos in its cache. This improves page loading speed because images are reused from the browser cache.
• When it is disabled: SuccessFactors prevents the browser from caching the photos. The browser will re-download photos on each request which keeps images up-to-date and avoids 

Key implications:

• Performance vs. freshness/privacy trade-off: "Browser Photo Caching" boosts performance but can delay seeing newly uploaded photos until the browse cache expires or is cleared, and can expose prior users’ photos on shared workstations.

Where/how to change:

• This is a global platform/Provisioning setting (must be changed via SAP Support/Provisioning changes). Contact your implementation partner or SAP Support to change it.
