2700288 - Cost Center Distribution Rule - Cannot Select Cost Center of Different Company

• You create a new Distribution Rule for Cost Centers.
• You maintain Cost Center ABC of Company XYZ as Sending Cost Center (ABC represents the cost center ID, XYZ represents the company ID that cost center ABC is assigned to).
• In the next step 2- Select Receivers only those cost centers can be selected that belong to company XYZ.
• It is not possible to select a cost center of a different company.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. In the Cost and Revenue work center go to the Allocation - Distribution Rules view.
2. Press New and select Distribution Rule for Cost Centers.
3. In step 1- Enter basic data enter the Sender Cost center ABC of company XYZ.
4. Specify the distribution amount determination.
5. Select Receiver Type: 2- Cost Centers.
6. Under Receivers in the Select Cost Centers field select Manually.
7. Press Next to navigate to step 2 - Select Receivers:
8. In the Available Cost Centers list you can only select the cost centers belonging to the company that the Sending Cost center is assigned to.

Or

• In the Cost and Revenue work center go to the Allocation - Distribution Rules view.
• Press New and select Distribution Rule for Cost Centers.
• In step 1- Enter basic data enter the Sender Cost center ABC of company XYZ.
• Specify the distribution amount determination.
• Select Receiver Type: 2- Cost Centers.
• Under Receivers in the Select Cost Centers field select By Organizational Unit.
• Select Organizational Unit DEF of Company GHI (DEF represents the Organizational Unit ID, GHI represents the ID of the different company).

An error message appears ''Functional unit DEF does not belong to company XYZ for specified date or period'.

It is not possible to select Receiving cost centers which do not belong to the company that the Sending Cost Center is assigned to.

This is expected system behavior.
