Symptom
If I change the score or the disqualification flag what happens to the candidates that already applied?

Resolution
If this comes to happen to you, for some reason you now need to change some specific question in an already existing requisition, that also already has candidates applied to it, the system will check two statuses only: New Application and Automatically Disqualified. This means that any changes you make to the questions in regarding of score or disqualification flag will not affect candidates that are in other statuses than these two mentioned before.
What will happen for each scenario?
- If you change a question to be now disqualifier, all the candidates that did not answered the question or answered with the incorrect answer, in New Application status, will be now possible moves to Automatically Disqualified, so the system will prompt a message for you to choose if you want to change their statuses:
- If you have as well changed the minimum score for the questions, or changed the scores in a way that some candidates would be now eligible for disqualification, the same thing will happen as demonstrated in the scenario above;
- If you have removed a question from being disqualified, then all the candidates, in Automatically Disqualified status, will now be possible moves back to New Application, so as in the first two scenarios, the system will prompt you a message for you to choose if you want to change their statuses:
- As the third scenario, if you lower down the minimum score for the questions, or changed in a way that more candidates will now be in this case Qualified, the same thing will happen as demonstrated in the scenario above;
Once more, this changes will only happen for the candidates placed in the status New Application or Automatically disqualified. If by some reason you have moved a candidate to other status than these two, the system will not take them in consideration.
One thing that is important to point out is that for a Best Practice, configure the Pre-Screening questions as read-only once the requisition is approved, so you don't take any risk of editing the questions after candidates already applied. This is because a change in the scoring/disqualification of the questions can lead to candidates accusing the company of unfair hiring processes, so we have this pop up question feature to protect the company.
