2701334 - Key Figure Restrictions in Reporting

Symptom

You created a new customized key figure to display a specific scenario for which the key figure result will be zero in the report. This key figure is not shown in the report view unless you add another key figure which has a non-zero value (Counter for example).

Environment

  • SAP Business by Design
  • SAP Cloud for Customer

Cause

When a report is executed with only one restricted key figure and no other drilldown available then the restriction on this key figure is applied globally. This means the complete report is executed with this restriction.
For example, first when a report is executed, say we have one restricted key figure and counter. Since there is a counter, first the report is executed with the given selections and then the restrictions are applied only to the restricted key figure. And now if we remove the Counter, since the full report is executed with only one key figure, the restrictions of that key figure is treated as a selection.

Resolution

At the end the report data you will get is always correct and instead of displaying an empty line it is showing the message no report data available to display. This is the expected system behavior.
