2701627 - After a change in configuration or a migration of an AIX LPAR, a SySAM license error is reported - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • After the configuration of an LPAR on AIX was changed
  • ASE does not start or starts in grace with license error
    • It may be seen even when new license file was generated

  • Does SySAM licensing support the use of Live Partition Mobility (LPM) feature on AIX?

  • After a migration of an LPAR, ASE reports an unrecognized hostID value in the migrated LPAR:

SySAM: The SYBASE_SAM_CAPACITY licensing capacity setting is not intended for this system. This machine partition or virtual machine does not appear to be part of the machine from which the SYBASE_SAM_CAPACITY value was obtained.
    License manager initialization fails.
