2705688 - Error generated when updating Date Format for locale

Symptom

When updating the default Date Format for a locale the following error is generated:

Please report the following error to your system administrator:<number>

Or if your configuration setting reportStackTraceToUser within LMS_ADMIN (see KBA 2452616) is set to true, you will see the following error:

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to References > Manage Labels > Locales > select locale > open in Edit mode > open Date Patterns tab
  2. Select the new Date Patten to be the default one and Apply Changes.
  3. Error is generated.

Resolution

Staying within the Date Patterns tab:

  1. Select the Date Pattern which is causing the error and remove it.
  2. Then add the same Date Pattern back in again under the Select the Date Pattern for the Active Locale section
  3. Once it's added back, set it again to be the default.
