2705688 - Error generated when updating Date Format for a locale

Symptom

When updating the default Date Format for a locale the following error is generated:

  • Please report the following error to your system administrator:<number>.

Or, if your configuration setting reportStackTraceToUser within LMS_ADMIN (see KBA 2452616) is set to true, you will see the following error:

  • Please report the following error to your system administrator: com.plateausystems.elms.util.helper.ElmsUpdateException: SQLException - updateI18nActiveLocaleDateFormatPatterns() failed.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Learning Administration >
  2. Navigate to References >
  3. Manage Labels >
  4. Locales >
  5. Select a locale >
  6. Open in Edit mode >
  7. Open Date Patterns tab >
  8. Select the new Date Patten to be the default one >
  9. Apply Changes >
  10. Error is generated.

Resolution

Staying within the Date Patterns tab:

  1. Select the Date Pattern which is causing the error and remove it >
  2. Then add the same Date Pattern back in again under the 'Select the Date Pattern for the Active Locale' section >
  3. Once it's added back, set it again to be the default.
