Symptom

How to locate KPI and tile to add to sofware collection in order to export them to production?

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1902

Resolution

In order to add the items to the collections we need two things under QA system:

  • Locate the following information:
    • Group ID
      1. Login to Fiori Launchpad
      2. Click on Manage KPIs and Reports
      3. Click on Groups
      4. Search for your Group
      5. Once found, if you do not see the ID under the name, please follow these steps:
        1. Click on Me Area on the top left side for Fiori Launchpad
        2. Click on App Settings
        3. Select Maintain IDs across all applictions
      6. Make copy of the ID which starts with a prefix ( example, YY, ZZ, etc...)
    • Tile ID
      1. Click on KPIs Tab
      2. Search for your KPI
      3. Once found click on the KPI
      4. Click on Visualize
      5. Click on the tile
      6. Copy the ID

To transport them to production, do the following:

  1. Login to Fiori Launchpad in QA
  2. Click on the Transport Management group
  3. Click on the collection you need to add items to
  4. Click on Add Items
  5. Search for the items based on the IDs that was copied from the previous steps KPI ID and Tile ID
  6. Once the two items are found, add them to the collection
  7. Click on check to make sure everything is fine
  8. Once everything is successfully checked, click on Export

    Note: If the check failed because of App Variant missing, click on Add Missing Items and that will add the App Variant

  9. Login now to Fiori Launchpad in production system
  10. Go to the Import Software tile application
  11. Search for the items
  12. Import them
