2709155 - Principal Propagation not working on Cloud Portal

Symptom

The issue may be presented in two different ways after opening backend applications (e.g. WDA, ITS) on Cloud Portal:

  1.  A certificate selection pop up is displayed:

  2. A ABAP logon screen is displayed:

In any of the ways, we can see a request for the application being made directly to the backend instead of to the Cloud Connector by looking at the HTTP traces:

  Incorrect: https://<backend_host>:<backend_port>/<path>

  Correct: https://system<hash_value>-<subaccount>.dispatcher.<datacenter>.hana.ondemand.com/<path>

               or

               https://system<hash_value>-<subaccount>.dispatcher.hana.ondemand.com/<path> (if the datacenter is Europe ROT)
