2710185 - When Creating a Sales Document via Excel Upload Following Error Occurs: 'Changing UUID not possible; field is read-only'

When creating a Sales Document such as a Sales Quote or a Sales Order via the Excel Upload the following error occur:

'Changing UUID not possible; field is read-only'
'Create not possible; source object inconsistent'

The issue can occur for both Sales Order and Sales Quote upload via Excel. In our example we will use the Sales Quote from Microsoft Excel.

Prerequisite: You enhanced the Excel Upload Template with the Project Task ID

1. Open the Sales Quote Excel Upload Template.
2. Select the SAP BUSINESS BYDESIGN tab.
3. Logon to your system.
4. Enter the respective Account ID.
5. Enter the respective Product, Quantity, UoM and maintain a Project Task ID in the field that you added in the template.
6. Select the SAP BUSINESS BYDESIGN tab.
7. Click on the Save data to option.
8. The following error messages are displayed:
   'Changing UUID not possible; field is read-only'
   'Create not possible; source object inconsistent'

The reason for the error messages is the fact that you are uploading products with an item type that is not a project item type. In the excel template in the Project Task ID field you maintained a Project Task ID. Since the item type is not a project-based item type, the field Project Task ID is not enabled hence the field is read only. Therefore, the document becomes inconsistent and cannot be created.

You need to either change the item type in the product master data to a project based item type or remove the value in the field Project Task ID in the excel template.
