Cost centre field is not showing in job history > edit/insert new record, even-though the permissions to cost centre in history is given.

Reproducing the Issue

  • Go to any employee > job history > edit/insert new record > an enabled and permitted field is not showing in the job history edit mode.
  • The fields can be edited in employee self service and in manager self service as well

Cause

  • This is an issue with the configure people profile layout configuration. In Configure People Profile and in Job Information, the fields under Organization Information - the Company (Legal Entity) field is under the hidden fields (as in Max Fields to show is 2, but the company is configured as the 6th field):

  • Since most of the fields in Organization Information section are derived from Company and changing this field's value may have impact on other fields, it is always expected to be the first field or a non-hidden field in the layout configuration. With this change the customers will be able to see all the fields as configured.

Resolution

For this particular example configuration issue we discussed above (in Cause Section), we have two options: we can change the max fields to show as 6, or move the Company field to the beginning of the list making it the first field.
