Symptom
You created an OData query via the Build OData Queries in a Report. When you paste the URL, it results in the error message 'The request URL is not valid'.
Environment
- SAP Cloud for Customer
- SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
-
Go to the Business Analytics work center, select the view Design Report.
-
Search for your Report, Click Build OData Queries.
-
Make the required selections and set filters if needed and click the Generate Data Query.
-
Copy the link displayed in the OData Query box and paste it into a browser.
-
Logon with a User.
The link will not work, it may result in the error message 'The request URL is not valid' or just return a blank page.
Cause
The user is technical user. Technical users (for example communication users) cannot be used for OData report access.
Resolution
You need to use a business user to access this report in OData.
As a workaround you can also create a user with OData for Analytics authorization:
-
Create an employee or service agent (for service agents additionally request a user).
-
Assign the work center and work center view which contains the analytical report to the access rights of the employee or User.
