2712433 - Employee Import Data Failure Caused By Rule with Base Object Job Information Model or Compensation Information Model

Symptom

You receive an application error when Importing Job Information or Compensation Information.

The application error would be accompanied by: Unfortunately, it is not possible to make your changes. A user updated or deleted data that conflicts with your changes. Please refresh the page and try again

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors  Employee Central - Employee Import Data

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Admin Center -> Import Employee Data
  2. Select Job History and Full Purge
  3. Select import file
  4. Click on Validation Import Data
  5. Result: Import failed with error: Unfortunately, it is not possible to make your changes. An user updated or deleted data that conflicts with your changes. Please refresh the page and try again

Cause

Misconfiguration of Job Information Business Rule with Base object:  Job Information Model or compensation information Mode

Resolution

Review all Business Rule with Base object:  Job Information Model or compensation information Mode

Option 1 Workaround: Disable permission for Employee Central Import Settings

  1. Go to Manage Permission Roles 
  2. Select the role or roles of the importing the file
  3. Click on Permission button and select Employee Central Import Settings
  4. Disable:Enable Business Rules for selected areas -Job Information 
  5. Save
  6. Try to import your file again

Option 2 Fix: Find the Rule causing the Import Failure and fix it.

  1. Run a Rule trace on all Business Rule with Base object  Job Information Model or compensation Information Model with the following steps. 
    1. Go to Manage Data
    2. Create - Rule Trace (select the user that is performing the import and also the range date when the import is going to be done)
    3. Select all Business Rule with Base object  Job Information Model or compensation Information Model 
    4. Import File
    5. Review Rule Trace log
    6. Go to Configure Business Rule and search each rule in the trace file to find possible issues
