2713242 - What are restricted access users and how to create them - SAP Jam

Symptom

What are Restricted Access Users in SAP Jam and how to create one of them?

Environment

SAP Jam Collaboration

Resolution

The Restricted Access Users are partially restricted internal users. They have feature and security permissions that limit their access to only the SAP Jam groups to which they have been invited, and to the content and people that are in those groups. To be able to create Restricted Access Users, you need to start using one of the custom fields available in User Data File (UDF). This field will indicate if the user is restricted or not.

To start using this field, you need to raise a support case to Cloud Product Support (component LOD-SF-JAM-RUR), mentioning what custom field you will want to use to restrict and also what value you will consider to validate it. The values available to use are: "Y", "Yes" or "enabled".

For SAP Support Engineers (CPS): please refer to internal documentation at KBA 2495868.
