Symptom
-
A single "reorg rebuild index" process is blocking other ASE processes. The status of the ASE spid in sysprocesses is: "latch sleep".
- The "reorg rebuild index" process cannot be killed via "kill" command.
- There may or may not be concurrent reorg processes running on the same table/index.
- "Error: 872, Severity: 20, State: 1" may also reported.
- dbcc stacktrace on the "reorg" spid includes the following functions: buf_get_latch(), bt__rebld_leafs(), bt__rebldpgs(), bt_rebuildtree(), rbld__index_partition(), rbld__index_main(), reorg_main()
