Symptom
When you perform a Candidate Search, using Job Req Id as a search criteria an error appears: "Invalid or no permission on the Job Req ID entered. Please check the ID and try again."
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
- Candidate Search;
Reproducing the Issue
- Check that the user has permission to search by candidates(standalone and within job requisitions):
- Go to Recruiting > Candidates
- Now click in the Candidates tab and try to search for a Job Req Id that you don't have in your list:
- The error appears in the screen: "Invalid or no permission on the Job Req ID entered. Please check the ID and try again."
Cause
This happens because the specific user that is trying to perform the search does not have access to the Job Requsition in the search.
Resolution
The system is structured in a way to prevent that information that someone is not entitled to have access to, meaning that when a User attempts to perform a candidate search, as this case, the system will retrieve all the data using this specific user, so, if the specific user does not have access to the Job Requisition, the system will not be able to retrieve such information.
The way to resolve this would be to adding the specific user that you need to perform this search to an operator role to the said job requisition. It could be a direct operator (like recruiterName, hiringManagerName, coordinatorName, and so on), in a Recruiting Group that is added into the job requisition, or int he Additional Users field of the operatorTeam fields. With that, they will have access to the requisition and be able to perform the search using the Job Requisition ID.
