2715792 - No Error in Web Service Call When Providing Incorrect Data

Symptom

You are replicating a ticket from external system using standard web service ManageServiceRequestIn. In the payload, you have provided installation point ID which does not exist. You did not receive any error or warning messages during the replication. Furthermore, new installation point with ID provided in the payload has been created and is displayed in the ticket.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

Prerequisite: You have replicated ticket ABC (ABC represents the ticket ID) from external system and provided installation point DEF (DEF represents the installation point ID) in the payload.

  1. Go to the Service work center.
  2. Go to the Tickets view.
  3. Open the ticket ABC.

Result: Installation point DEF is displayed in the ticket ABC.

Cause

When uploading data with web service (for example ManageServiceRequestIn), the system does not check for data errors and the values provided are persisted. Validation errors show only when accessing data from the UI.

Resolution

You need to provide correct data during the service call.

Once saved, you can adapt installation point from the UI.
