Symptom
The SAP IQ What's New in SAP IQ 16.1 document incorrectly states about the changed behavior of the below functions.
BYTE_SUBSTR |
(Changed) Returns only BINARY or LONG BINARY. Previously, this function returned BINARY, LONG BINARY, VARCHAR, LONG VARCHAR, NVARCHAR, or LONG NVARCHAR, depending on the type of the input string expression. See BYTE_SUBSTR function in SAP IQ SQL Reference. |
INSERTSTR |
(Changed) If all of the input expressions are BINARY, then this function returns LONG BINARY. Previously, the INSERTSTR function returned LONG NVARCHAR or LONG VARCHAR, even if the input expressions were BINARY. See INSERTSTR function in SAP IQ SQL Reference. |
STUFF |
(Changed) If all of the input expressions are BINARY, this function returns LONG BINARY. Previously, this function returned LONG NVARCHAR or LONG VARCHAR, even if the input expressions were BINARY. See STUFF Function [String] in SAP IQ SQL Reference. |
