2717933 - Problem recording completion in Canadian LMS

When recording completion as an Instructor using the French Canadian locale, the following error is displayed:

Une date et une heure d’achèvement valides sont requises : (Date and time)

 (English equivalent) Valid date and time of completion are required : (Date and time)

1. As an Instructor change the locale. Go to Options and Setting and choose the French Canadian locale
2. As an Instructor go to the My Classes tab
3. Access the Authorized to Teach tab
4. Click on the Record Completions button
5. Make sure you enter a date and time
6. Go through the process of recording (adding of users, choosing a completion status)
7. Click on Submit then Ok

The French Canadian time format as per standard pattern is am/pm. The UI Fiori is not currently designed to handle this time pattern. UI Library Control (Time Picker) provides the selected time in a universally accepted pattern.

Working on the system to handle the time pattern will fall as an enchancement. No definite timeline yet as to when this will be enhanced.

Since the system is not designed to handle this time format pattern, addressing the limitation will be covered through an enhancement.

There is a known workaround though so that Instructors will still be able to record completion using the French Canadian locale. Follow the steps mentioned below to do so. A work document with screenshots is also attached for a more detailed steps.

I. Create a new 24-hour time format pattern

   References > Calendar & Time > Date Format Patterns > Add New (link)

   Date Pattern ID: HHmm (this can be anything)

   Description : 24 hour format (this can be anything)

   Pattern Type: Time

   Pattern: HHmm

 

II. Add the time format pattern to the Locale: French Canadian

   References > Geography > Locales

   Search for the French Canadian Locale and Edit it

   Go to the Time Pattern tab and click on the “add one or more from the list” if the 24 format is not yet there

 

III. USER SIDE > PREFERENCE (OPTIONS AND SETTINGS)

Choose the 24 hr format pattern
