Symptom
In Administer Time for permanent time accounts, the account history by year table has a different value for taken absences from the actual number of leaves taken that year.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Time off / Time sheet /Administer Time in employee file
- Select a permanent time account
- Verify data in Account History by Table
Cause
This is an expected behavior.
Resolution
Account History by Year - This table has 3 columns. Please find the description on how values are calculated for each of these columns.
- Earned – This value will be calculated by considering all the postings (like Manual Adjustment, Entitlement, Accruals etc) which are relevant for the balance calculation. Here, we would consider the postings on a yearly basis and then calculate the value per year.
- Taken Absences - This value will be calculated by considering all the absences booked against the last Earned balance in the table.
- Paid out – This value will be calculated by considering all the payouts booked against last Earned balance in the table.
Here, the Posting date of Payouts and Absences will not be considered for calculation of the above values. Instead, we consider the previous year's earned balance, if available.
T below example will explain in detail:
Time Account –> Start Date = Jan 1, 2015, Permanent Account. Annual Frequency of 10 hours is earned by the user since 2015.
Now, if 5 hours of Absence is requested in Feb 1, 2017, it will be posted against the balance earned in 2015 (as it is available).
As of Jan 1, 2018, "Account History by Year" Table will look like this:

In the Account History By Year table for permanent time accounts, years displayed are from the start of the time account till one year before the selected date in as of date field.
