2718588 - How to maintain the service account for SAP Cloud Print Service without a Windows Domain

Symptom

When starting the SAP Cloud Print Manager(CPM) the first time, a Windows service account for SAP Cloud Print Service is required as below:

****Be aware that the CPM must be started by 'Run as administrator'.

If there is no Windows domain user available(The Windows server is not under a domaincontroller), the local computer name can be used in domain field. However the following errors may occur if an incorrect domain or user name is entered:

  • A prompt message is displayed:
    "SAP Cloud Print Service failed to configure. Reason: The user or password entered is not correct."

  • Or sometimes the wrong domain name can even be saved, when trying to start the CPM again you see message: 
    "The SAP Cloud Print Service could not be started. The functionality of the SAP Cloud Print Manager will be restricted."
  • Error 1069 "can't start service due to logon failure"
