Symptom

  • Error received when trying to extract tables from ECC using Data Services Workbench.
  • Error:  "Cannot retrieve children nodes - browse remote error: RFC CallReceive error <Function /SAPDS/RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_RUN: RFC_ABAP_MESSAGE, Changes to Repository objects are not permitted in this client)- Changes to Repository objects are not permitted in this client[SAP NWRFC 721][SAP Partner]>"
  • ECC system is closed and cannot be opened to allow for Generate and Execute mode.
