Symptom

The PDI solution cannot access/change ItemAccountingCodingBlockDistribution Node on Sales Orders.

Reproducing the Issue

  • Create a PDI solution that tries to adjust the ItemAccountingCodingBlockDistribution Node for Sales Orders.
  • The Node is not adjusted, and you receive error messages.

Cause

There are restrictions on the ItemAccountingCodingBlockDistribution Node and not all adjustments and use cases work as expected.

The only type of AccountingCodingBlock allowed is Projects (Direct Cost Projects and Multi-Customer Projects) and the association from sales order to coding block is only permitted for the following item types:

  • Service - fixed price
  • Service - fixed price without actuals
  • Service - time and material
  • Expense - fixed price without actuals
  • Expense - time and material.

For all other item types this association is not maintained and creation of coding block is disabled.

Resolution

There are validation checkings for this particular node, which are causing the restrictions and they are planned to be adjusted in a future release, so that more scenarios will become available.
