2723743 - Creating / enriching the Time Dimension with a HANA live connection is not working in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • Creating a time dimension does not work in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • After clicking the Create Time Dimension button and trying to select the dimension, no dimensions are available.

    • SPS02 rev 024.05 or higher
    • SPS03 rev 033.00 or higher
  • Note: Matching EPMMDS plug-in must be installed. For more information on EPMMDS plug-in versions, see SAP Note 2444261.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Import the HANA MODEL DATE ENRICHMENT delivery unit (DU) to the remote HANA system.
  2. Create a model from a HANA calculation view, which fulfills the HANA specific requirements described in the online help: Create a New Model.
  3. Notice that after clicking on the Create Time Dimension button and trying to select the Dimension, no dimensions are available.

Cause

  • The HANA MODEL DATE ENRICHMENT Delivery Unit is not deployed correctly.
  • See 2691650 - Time Data Delivery Units for SAP Analytics Cloud.

Resolution

Install the delivery unit called "HANAMODDATENR00_0-80004191.TGZ" which can be downloaded here.

Restriction: The enriched time dimension feature isn't available with SAP HANA Service deployments.
