2726084 - Updating the Higher-Level Position of a Position with no Incumbent does not update the Manager of its Lower-Level Positions

Symptom

There is a Position with no Incumbent who has Lower-Level Positions. In Job Information, the Incumbents of the Lower-Level Positions have this Position's Higher-Level Position as their Manager since this Position has no Incumbent. This Position is then updated with a new Higher-Level Position. However, the Manager of the Lower-Level Positions were not updated and instead, it remained as the old Higher-Level Position.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Position Management

Reproducing the Issue

1. Create a Position with no Incumbent. Assigned two Lower-Level Positions and a Higher-Level Position.

2. For the Incumbents of the Lower-Level Position, their Manager is the second Higher-Level Position's Incumbent.

3. In Position Org Chart, click on the Position with no Incumbent. Select 'Edit' and change the Higher Level Position.

4. Position Org Chart now shows the new hierarchy.

5. Check the Job Information of the two Lower-Level Positions Incumbents and their Manager was not updated.
