2726680 - Error Message: Requesting Cost Center Only Permitted for Overhead Cost Projects

When migrating projects, you receive the error message:

Requesting cost center only permitted for overhead cost projects.

SAP Business ByDesign All Versions

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Overview view.
3. Search activity: Migration of Projects, open it.
4. Select Migrate projects using the migration tool.
5. Upload the project template you maintained.
6. Execute migration step by step, you get the error message as below:
   Requesting cost center only permitted for overhead cost projects.

You have maintained reporting unit in the template under Project Plan sheet, but the reporting unit is only valid for project type: direct cost project.

If the project is maintained with other project types, system will raise the error.

You need to remove the value of reporting unit if the project type is not direct cost project.

Or, according to your business case, you can keep the reporting unit but change the project type to direct cost project.
