Employee Central - Adhoc report

1. Go to Adhoc report -Foundation Object
2. Select all Pay Component Group
3. Run report Ad Hoc Reports Export Offline or Ad Hoc Reports Export Online
4. Result: Error message

Product limitation

1. Go to admin center - Manage organization, Pay and job Structures
2. Select Foundation Object Pay Component Group
3. Pay Component Group associated with 120 Pay Components

Case Example: 5000 characters.

While reporting on Pay Component group, The system need to identify all the Pay components which constitutes the Pay Component Group and  the Pay components will be separated by Pipe '|' symbol. This entire string consisting of Pay comps separated by "|" symbol can't exceed 4000 characters as it's a limitation in Database.

1. limitation from the Database side as "XMLELEMENT" has size limitation of 4000 characters.
2. "The identifier can be up to 4000 characters and does not have to be a column name or column reference"

Example : How to Determine the number of characters

Step: 1

1. Go to admin center - Manage organization, Pay and job Structures
2. Select Foundation Object Pay Component Group
3. Copy all associated Pay Component

Case Example: 1271 characters.

Step 2: Note Pad

1. Copy and paste into a text editor like Notepad
2. See below example in this case : number of character= 1271

FAQ - Additional Information

Q) how many pay component can I add to Pay group Via UI or Manage organization, Pay and job Structures?

A) There is no limitation.

Q) Provide any best practice

A) it's not a best practice to combine 100 of Pay comps in single Pay Comp Group.
