Symptom

  • Client connection unexpectedly terminated.
  • The ASE errorlog contains an "infected with signal 11" error in the module kbfalloc() with a stack trace:

Current process (0x10f506d1) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0000000080456c5c (kbfalloc+0x11c), sigi nfo (code, address) = (1, 0x0000000000000010)

  • The stack trace includes the following functions:

kbfalloc
ubfallocf
createpool_n_alloc
memallocheap
dol__ncinsert

  • The infected spid becomes a zombie thread.
