2727372 - Predelivered content for regions is changed

Symptom

It is unclear, when and how the predelivered content for regions is changed. In the system it is not possible to determine the changes to this content.

Reproducing the Issue

Go to Business Configuration workcenter
Select Overview view
Search for Regions Activity

Cause

The pre-delivered content for the regions in SAP BusinessByDesign and Cloud for Customer follows the standard ISO 3166-2 (deviations for some countries exist). Therefore, the content is updated, once the standard is updated by ISO and published with the next product release.

Resolution

The current content is listed in the attached EXCEL list. The chronological changes are listed below.

You can now activate the region codes for Bosnia-Herzogowina according to the ISO standard (https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:code:3166:BA ). Per default, the new region codes are obsolete (inactive). If you want to activate them, remove the Obsolete flag for the respective region code in the Regions business configuration activity. You may need to check whether you need to adopt any integration scenarios and mapping of region codes.

Update 22.05

You can now activate the region codes for Chile according to the ISO standard (https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:code:3166:CL). Per default, the new region codes are obsolete (inactive). If you want to activate them, remove the Obsolete flag for the respective region code in the Regions business configuration activity. You may need to check whether you need to adopt any integration scenarios and mapping of region codes.

Update 21.11

New Region Codes for UK Added Inactively

You can now activate the region codes for the United Kingdom according to the ISO standard (https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:code:3166:UK). Per default, the new region codes are obsolete (inactive). If you want to activate them, remove the Obsolete flag for the respective region code in the Regions business configuration activity. You may need to check whether you need to adopt any integration scenarios and mapping of region codes.

Update 21.08

For Countries AZ – Azerbeijan and MK – North Mazedonia, all regions according to ISO are added inactively to the system.

In case you want to use them, please remove the “obsolete” flag from the entries.

Update 21.02 based on ISO notification 11_2020

Please note:

Add: New codes and their descriptions are delivered inactive. For these codes, the “OBSOLETE” flag is set. In order to use these entries, you as a customer need to remove the flag in the fine-tuning activity “Regions”.

Delete: Codes that need to be deleted according to the ISO changes are not changed in the standard delivery. In the table below they are marked with “Set to obsolete”. If you do not want to use the code anymore, you can set the “Obsolete” flag in the fine tuning activity “Regions”.

Changes to regions for Iran as suggested by ISO are not updated in the system, as these changes cannot be done in a compatible way. Existing region codes were re-assigned to other existing regions, e.g. Region 07 Tehran -> Region 07 Fars Region 23 Hormozgan -> Tehran

You as the customer, can maintain the descriptions accordingly in your business configuration.
