2727657 - Unable to Assign Hire/Accrual Rule in Time Account Type

Import to assign time off rules on time account type fails with error: 'Rule must not change the validity or bookable period of the time account. Changes are only possible using an interim account update rule.'

This is a due to system validation error which is thrown by system if the hire or accrual rule being assigned to the time account type is moving the time account header dates such as Time Account Valid From, Time Account Valid Until, Booking Possible From and Booking Possible Until.

System validation is implemented in the system which restricts assignment of rules on time account if time account header dates is/are being shifted within the Hire or Accrual rule configuration. This configuration is not recommended as this causes time off data inconsistencies and follow up processing issues with time accounts.

Example:

Hire rule must only be configured to create accrual postings during the hire/rehire period of an employee while Accrual rule must only be configured to create accrual postings during the accrual/accruable period of the employee. If booking period needs to be adjusted, use interim account update rule instead. See KBA 2309405.
