Symptom

  • Unified Rendering (UR) is an SAP-owned HTML rendering and JavaScript library used in multiple SAP UI technologies, including Web Dynpro ABAP, which is widely used in Transportation Management applications.
  • Running an outdated Unified Rendering version can cause significant issues that impact both the user interface and the functionality of UI elements. Common problems include:
    • Browser Compatibility: Older versions may not fully support modern browsers, leading to rendering issues and missing HTML5/JavaScript features.
    • User Interface and Experience:
      • UI elements may break, appear distorted, misaligned, hidden or stop working.
      • Some UIBB components do not render properly.
      • Help values (F4-help) may not display.
      • Input fields may appear editable but do not accept values.
    • Performance and Technical Limitations: Outdated versions can result in reduced performance, feature gaps, and incompatibility with newer SAP components.
    • Technical Errors: JavaScript errors visible in the browser console (F12).
  • These problems can significantly affect usability and functionality in the TM Web Dynpro interfaces.
