Symptom
This document explains how to install the Microsoft Debug Diagnostic Tool V2 and record an Excel Dump File.

SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office

Note: you can also download the x64 (64 Bit) variant if you are using an x86 (32 Bit) Office. -
Install the tool;
- Open the "DebugDiag 2 Collection" application from your start menu;

When opening the tool for the first time it should automatically bring up the "Select Rule Type" dialog.
If this is not the case, click on "Add Rule…" button at the bottom of the dialog. - Select "Crash" as rule type and click on "Next >":

Choose "A specific process" and press on "Next >":
- If Excel is currently running you can simply select it from the list of running processes. Otherwise you can just insert EXCEL.EXE in the "Selected Process" TextBox. Afterwards click on "Next >":

The "Advanced Configuration" dialog will appear. Keep the default values and click on "Next >":
- Optionally you can define a rule name and change the output location for the Dump files. Please remember the "Output Location" as you will need the output for the SAP case. Then click on "Next > ":

Select the "Activate the rule now" option and click on "Finish". The rule is now active;
- Reproduce the Excel crash. Afterwards you should be able to see an increased "Userdump Count":

Zip the complete content of the "Output Location" and upload it to the OneDrive / SharePoint URL provided by the SAP employee processing the case;
- After the issue was reproduced and the Dump file collected, remember to delete or at least to deactivate the rule previously configured:
