2729181 - IFRS16 - Error message when you try to Create a Lease Contract

When you release contract ID 123 (123 represents the ID of the contract ID), which was created for company ABC (ABC represents the company ID), you receive the following error message:

"Fixed asset - already exist with lease contract id 00000000000000000000000000000000123 and object id 0000000001"

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the work center Lease Contract Management.
2. Select the view Lease Contract.
3. Select New.
4. Select Lease Contract.
5. Enter all required fields, and Lessee Company = ABC.

Receive the error message:

"Fixed asset - already exist with lease contract id 00000000000000000000000000000000123 and object id 0000000001".

The reason you are receiving this error message is because there is already a contract 123 existing for company DEF (DEF represents the company code).

This is incorrect behaviour and has already been identified by SAP. There is a correction being put in place for Business ByDesign release 1902.

The correction that is being put in place is a validation on the company ID. Meaning that you can have a Contract ID 123 in both company ABC and company DEF.

At the moment if you have Contact ID 1 in company ABC and the status is anything but "Released" you cannot create a contract in DEF.
However if the status of contract 1 was Released you would not have any issues creating a contract in DEF.

To complete IFRS16 testing please only create contracts for one company until Business ByDesign 1902 release.
