2729832 - HireDate Showing Incorrect format/date in SuccessFactors

Symptom

  • HireDate is showing an incorrect format/date
  • When the import file is opened in CSV format the date entered is shown correctly as "MM/DD/YYYY", however, after successful import the date format shows in a different format (e.g. YYYY-MM-DD)
  • When trying to update the Date format in one of the Custom columns but the date is appears in a different format to that defined in the file.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Upload Employee Import (UDF) User Data File
  2. Export Employee (UDF) User Data File
  3. HireDate is displaying incorrectly

Resolution

SF Supports the following date formats for Employee Import:

  1. "Month/Day/Year" format should be "11/23/2018" (This is US date format default)
  2. "Day-Month-Year" format should be "23-NOV-2018" (This is UK date format)

When we open the file in CSV format, the spread sheet software will automatically convert all the date formats to MM/DD/YYYY.

So to resolve the said issue, please modify the date format and reimport the data and this will resolve the issue with the date format displayed in the custom columns.

WARNING: If you open the file in MS Excel, MS Excel may translate dates into the mm/dd/yyyy. It is recommended to use a text editor when working with imports
