2730462 - An error occurred while attempting to load the Goal Plan - Career Development Planning

When going to the Development Plan of some users, the system throws the “An error occurred while attempting to load the goal Plan” error message.

SAP SuccessFactors Career Development Planning

1. Go to the Development Plan of a user.
2. The page will not load and the “An error occurred while attempting to load the goal Plan” error message will be displayed.
3. By searching the system logs (only available to support team), it points to a “ConversionException” related to Goal Table Fields (Milestone, Task, Target, etc). Support Team: please refer to internal memo for the complete log sample to confirm if it is the same issue.

The Table fields (Milestone, Task, Target, etc), which are available for the Goal Plan and Development Plan, are not supported by the Learning Activities template. Therefore, configuring them for the Learning Activities template can cause this error for users that added records to those table fields.

To resolve this issue, the Table Fields should be removed from the Learning Activity template and the existing data from those fields should be deleted.

1. Report an case for the Cloud Product Support team.
2. The support team will validate if this is the cause of the issue by reviewing the system logs.
3. If this is confirmed as the cause of the issue, support will ask for your approval to run the script to clean the data from those Table Fields.
4. Once approval has been provided, the support team will engage the Engineering team to run the script.
5. Support can also process a change request to remove the incorrect Table Field from the Learning Activities template. But, please note that, if you need to replace this table field by another field (a textarea “Comments” field, for example), you’d need to engage an Implementation Partner to complete this configuration change.
